Air pollution levels in Israel are very high today, Tuesday, February 10, 2015. While affecting much of the country, the pollution levels are particularly high in Israel’s southern Negev region, as a result of sand and dust storms. The levels are expected to drop significantly in the north this evening, when rain begins to fall. Tomorrow, Feb. 11th, they’re expected to drop throughout the rest of the country tomorrow, aside from the south, where sand and dust storms will continue.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection (MoEP) is recommending that populations sensitive to air pollution refrain from activities. These include those with heart and lung diseases, the elderly, children, and pregnant women.
