Air & Ground in Action 30 rockets were fired throughout the weekend toward Israeli territory. The “Iron Dome” batteries intercepted some of the rockets and the IAF attacked a number of targets and terrorist bases in the Gaza Strip

Yesterday (Saturday), 30 Qassam rockets, Grad Rockets and mortar bombs were fired toward southern Israeli cities, including Be’er Sheva, Ashdod, S’derot, Kiryat Gat, Kiryat Malachi, Ashkelon, and other neighboring communities. In the afternoon hours, two mortar bombs landed in open land in the Ashdod regional council area-sparing any injuries or damage. All The rockets and bombs caused one death case, four people injuries and 10 people were classified as trauma victims.

In response to the rocket launchings, the IAF attacked a number of targets in the Gaza Strip. Throughout the weekend, five terrorist teams that launched rockets toward Israel were attacked, and last night 15 terrorist targets were attacked throughout the Strip.

Likewise, a terrorist team was attacked a short while ago by an IAF aircraft, the same team that fired rockets toward Israel just a few minutes earlier. Additionally, two “Hamas” executives who were involved in terror incidents were killed.

Throughout the weekend, the “Iron Dome” batterues succeeded in a number of rocket interceptions. A rocket that was fired toward Be’er Sheva was intercepted by the system, along with five rockets that were fired toward Ashkelon. The commander in chief of the Israel Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Benny Gantz, arrived for a visit at one of the batteries.

“Beginning with last Thursday and as a result of the difficult terror incidents, the IDF is operating in two sectors-in the deep south sector including clearing the scene of the event and the roads there, and also in the Gaza Strip, as a direct reaction to the attacks and also following the fire that has opened from the Gaza Strip toward Israeli territory”, says Gantz. “We can’t allow ourselves not to operate against whoever is attacking us, at every one of the relevant scenes”.

The Lieutenant General added that the IDF will continue its activity as long as it is needed. “I hope that the ones responsible for this will understand that the hurting the citizens of Israel will have serious consequences”.
