An experiment with the new “Patriot” anti-missile defence system took place several days ago. The experiment marks the first step in the implementation of the new and advanced system in the anti-missile alignment of the IDF. The new system features improved capabilities and wider radar coverage.

The “Patriot” system is part of an anti-missile alignment, aimed to protect Israel from the growing threat of rocket and missile attacks from close and afar.

The experiment was conducted in the southern part of Israel in cooperation with RAFAEL, an Israeli defence equipment manufacturer.

“The success of the experiment indicates the system’s preparedness for deployment, and will allow us better defence capabilities when facing the growing missile threat”, said anti-missile forces commander, Brig. Gen. Daniel Milo.
