Ground troops from the IDF’s ‘Golani’ Regiment storm Fatah positions at Jebel Rus in the Golan Heights, from which the Palestinian terrorists had been firing ‘Katyusha’ rockets at the Galilee. Two Bell-205 helicopters evacuate wounded, and a third, sent on an interdiction mission in the southern reaches of the mountain, evacuates the force’s commander, Cpt. Dov (‘Dubi’) Bromberg. Bromberg later dies of his injuries, and Jebel Rus is renamed Har Dov by the Israelis.
