During the different stages of our lives we encounter numerous amounts of people; some take part in shaping our personalities. Amongst those people we would be able to find a special person who influenced our lives significantly. Graduates of the upcoming course got a chance to show appreciation to the people who influenced them by inviting them to a special event held by the commander of the IAF.
“We would like to thank those of you who assisted with creating the next generation of IAF pilots”, said Major General Amir Eshel. “Influencing people is a great honor, more than any rank or position”.

The people sitting around the table in Major General Amir Eshel’s office were very diverse. Friends, youth movement instructors, sport coaches, teachers and even one proud grandmother. They are all from different backgrounds, but have all succeeded in touching the graduate’s hearts and the emotion is noticed in their eyes. “This event shows that you had the honor of influencing another human being’s life, and it’s a very emotional feeling”, says Orly Shalem First Lieutenant S’s teacher. “Looking around the room at all these people touches my heart”, agrees Emilia Ohev Tzion, Lieutenant Y’s youth movement instructor. “As a woman who believes in educating it’s important for me to know I have the power to change and influence”.

Claude Iftah Oppenheim, First Lieutenant D’s diving instructor discovered that the power is hidden in the little details, and those have big significance during the intense IAF Aviation Course. “During the weekends I would bring him coffee to the base, go over the learning materials and support him”, he shares, “I made sure he knew that I was available at all times”.
“The people you helped in one way or another are now graduating the IAF’s Aviation Course, closing one door and opening another”, said Commander of the IAF. “All that’s left for us to do is to thank you”.
