The IAF is welcoming a new generation of combat officers:a moment before receiving their wings, the graduates of the IAF Aviation Course 166 received their insignia
Their shoes have already been shined, the official officer’s cap is on their heads and their hearts are throbbing in honor of this special moment. Only a few days before receiving their wings, graduates of the 166 IAF Aviation Course, the new generation of combat fighters, officially received their insignia. “For three years you have had to live up to uncompromising demands and a professional work ethic on the ground and up in the sky. Today, you should hold your head up high and be proud of the long way you made”, said commander of the IAF’s Aviation Academy, Colonel Shaul. “Graduates of Course 166, great challenges stand before us as a nation: security challenges, economic challenges and social challenges as well. It’s your turn to take the reins and go forward. The course may have ended, but work is just beginning.
Receiving their First Lieutenant insignia is a very significant event for the graduates and for the force, which is receiving a new generation of combat officials to defend the country.”The insignia on your shoulders symbolizes great honor and responsibility”, said Major General Tal Kelman, commander of Hatzerim Airbase, to the graduates. “You have been chosen out of thousands of teenagers to join the ranks of the IAF to ensure the existence of Israel and its ways of Judaism and democracy”.
