Head of Air Branch, Gid’on Elrom, goes on a week-long visit to Ghana, in Africa. This visit paved the way for assistance the IAF would give Africa’s new nations in building their air forces: the IAF would establish schools for training pilots and mechanics and aid in organization of the air forces.The IAF’s activity in Africa (Ghana, Uganda, Tanganyika, Kenya and Ethiopia) formed part of the Foreign Office’s efforts to find new allies in Africa.
