Knesset Speaker MK Yoel (Yuli) Edelstein at the Ministry of Health on a state visit and for Chanuka candle lighting The Minister of Health, MK Rabbi Yakov Litzman, today hosted Knesset Speaker MK Yuli Edelstein at the Ministry of Health, and the two lit the first Chanuka candle in the presence of the management of the Ministry.
Health Minister Yakov Litzman and members of management presented the Knesset Speaker with a survey of the Health Ministry’s activity, emphasizing the program to strengthen the public health system and to shorten waiting times, as well as the long term nursing care insurance reform which Health Minister Yakov Litzman is leading as part of the health system’s effort to deal with the ageing of the population.
The Speaker of the Knesset thanked the Health Minister and the Ministry’s management for their wide ranging action, and mentioned that the Ministry of Health is very highly appreciated due to the resourcefulness of the Minister at its head, together with the management of the Ministry of Health. The Knesset speaker pointed out that in the not too distant past, Jews marked Chanuka in the diaspora, and therefore said “A great miracle occurred there”, but now, the Ministry’s commendable work is being done here in Israel, and we thus say “A great miracle occurred here”.
Health Minister Litzman thanked the Knesset speaker for his visit, and praised his commendable activity in good, responsible and ethical management of the Knesset’s affairs, maintaining its dignity and standing, and meriting backing from all parties in the house, ministers, MKs as well as international representatives.
