Ezer Weizman, a politician, industrialist, and military man, was born in June 15th, 1924, and passed away today, April 24th 2005.

Obtaining his early military training through his service at the British Army, and fighting against the Nazis he attended aviation school in Rhodesia and became a combat pilot.
In late 1940’s Weizman was a member of the “Irgun” and later the “Haganah” paramilitary organizations, and later joined the Israel Defence Forces, after the establishment of the State of Israel.
Since 1948 as a combat pilot until his appointment to the IAF commander in 1958, Weizman was one of the most remarkable people in the force, and greatly contributed to the building of the air force, and to the shaping of its spirit.
