An additional “Patriot” battery recently joined the Aerial Defense Division. “The integration of the new battery allows for a situation that we have been waiting for: We have many batteries and so at any given moment, there is an emergency battery that is available to be deployed if need be”, explained Lieutenant Colonel Roy, Northern Battalion Commander of the “Patriot” Division.

The new situation will allow not only backup support for the division and its other deployed batteries, but also another platform for training missions and exercises. “Using the new battery, we will be able to assist the different types of training at the Aerial Defense School. Better deployment training will now be possible for the cadets in the interceptors’ course the commanders’ course, the officers’ course and other advanced courses”, stressed Lieutenant Colonel Roy.

Additionally, the fact that the battery can be deployed in different locations will allow for more time for development and improvement in training, holding seminars and exercises with other platforms in the force. “Ultimately, the battery will allow for better preparation for missions and will give us more time to invest in our soldiers”, added Lieutenant Colonel Roy.
