Appointment of Ram Belinkov to assess the hospitals’ modes of working with the SAREL company ​The Minister of Health, Yakov Litzman, and the Director General of the Ministry of Health, Moshe Bar Siman Tov, today appointed Mr. Ram Belinkov to assess the hospitals’ modes of working with the SAREL company.   The SAREL company currently purchases medications and medical equipment for hospitals to a value of over one billion NIS per year.
Currently, the model of central purchasing of medications and medical equipment is accepted, with the aim of fully exploiting the advantages of size.   In the abovementioned framework, the Ministry’s mode of interaction with the company, and the ways that the economic advantages of size are exploited in the purchase of medications and medical equipment, will be assessed, with the aim of making sure that the State does indeed obtain the required advantages in this interaction.   Mr. Belinkov will submit his recommendations within 60 days.   Mr. Belinkov has served in the past in a series of public positions, including Director General of the Ministry of Interior and Director of Budgets in the Ministry of Finance.
