The Ministry of Health wishes to inform the public of the market recall of Prince tuna, “Filtuna” company, due to histamine levels found in the product that exceed the permitted level.
The Ministry of Health wishes to inform the public that following laboratory tests performed on a single can of the product “Prince – Small Tuna Chunks in Vegetable Oil” only, date of manufacture 6-Oct-15, in 960 gram packages only, made by “Filtuna” Industries, the histamine level found exceeded the permitted level. The Ministry has informed the company that it must collect the product from the institutional market and from the retail market. The recall decision was taken following tests performed by the Ministry, which showed histamine levels that exceed the permitted level. High histamine levels could cause redness and swelling within minutes of eating the fish. The symptoms usually continue for less than 24 hours. If the symptoms appear, seek medical treatment.
Filtuna Industries is acting in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and in accordance with the Ministries directives. As a precaution, we request consumers in possession of the “Prince” and “Diamond” product, bearing Chatam Sofer kashrut authorization, in 960 gram packages, with dates of manufacture from 1-Aug-15 to 25-Oct-15, not to consume or purchase the product. Anybody in possession of these products is requested to contact the company’s consumer service center at telephone number 08-6232983, in order to return the product and to receive another in its place. The center operates Sunday to Thursday between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.
