German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara, today, in Berlin, toured the Yad Vashem art exhibition at the German Historical Museum.
German Chancellor Merkel decided to accompany the Prime Minister and his wife despite having already participated in the opening of the exhibition.
Prime Minister Netanyahu:
"I said, Angela, that I appreciate deeply the fact that you chose to personally come here, to accompany Sara and me on this remarkably provocative and moving exhibition where we see the despair and the hope and the great spirit of these people in the heart of hell.
We always said we will never forget the six million. But it is my responsibility to assure that we are never again left defenseless in the face of genocidal enemies. And that is why I even more greatly appreciate the fact that you assist us in ensuring our ability to defend ourselves."
