Ministry to Provide up to NIS 100m in Support for Waste Treatment in the Periphery

A Request for Proposals for waste treatment plans in disadvantaged communities… The Ministry of Environmental Protection (MoEP) will provide up to NIS 100 million to municipal companies created by local authorities in low socio-economic areas that come up with waste treatment plans.

The financial support is part of a 3-year MoEP plan to improve waste collection and recycling in the periphery. In the first phase of the ministry’s plan, it is asking relevant municipal companies to submit programs that would establish infrastructure for waste collection and waste removal and encouraging recycling. The money will go toward funding up to three municipal companies.
