The Minister of health, Rabbi Yaakov Litzman, with the wife of the Prime Minister, Mrs. Sarah Netanyahu, went to Assaf Harofeh Hospital to visit Sarah Sperling, who was injured in a serious road accident that occurred this week on Highway 1.
The Minister offered support to Sarah’s parents and talked with the senior medical staff, who updated him of Sarah’s medical condition and the complex medical procedures that she had undergone since arriving at the hospital. In addition, Mr. Litzman and Mrs. Netanyahu, along with the director of Assaf Harofeh Medical Center, Dr. Benny Davidson, visited actor Yossi Graber, who is also recovering in the Department of Intensive Care at the hospital.
Mrs. Netanyahu recalled: “Today, we came to visit Sarah, a 20 year old woman who was about to marry and who had a nasty accident. We talked with her parents, I embraced the mother and with the Lord’s grace I hope that we can share the joy of her daughter’s wedding. We all need to preserve life and do everything to act carefully and avoid accidents”.
“This was a combination of divine intervention and an outstanding medical staff who have acted devotedly and was able to perform the correct and most professional actions, putting their heart and soul in it. I want to thank the hospital’s medical staff, the lifesaving teams who operated in the field, the doctors and nurses. I pray, with all the people of Israel, for complete recovery for Sarah and for everyone injured in that terrible accident”.
“We also visited Yossi Graber, one of Israel’s best known actors, with the Minister of Health, and I pray for his complete recovery”.
Health Minister Yaakov Litzman: “We visited the injured bride and were highly impressed by the devotion of the medical staff at Assaf Harofeh, who are doing everything to save her. The fact that the bride was rushed here from the accident site is truly a miracle, after they realized that this was the best place in the country for dealing with such complicated cases. We offered our support to the Sperling family and all wish her a swift, full recovery.”
Dr. Benny Davidson, Director of Assaf Harofeh Medical Center, thanked the Prime Minister’s wife and the Minister of Health for visiting and praised the medical center’s physicians, who are working day and night to save Sarah Sperling.
