Ten Israeli tourists are among the casualties in the Istanbul terror attack

Ten Israelis were injured in the suicide bombing today (Saturday, 19 March 2016) in a market in Istanbul, Turkey. Of the 10, 4 were seriously injured and 6 were lightly injured.
Media reports on Israelis who were murdered in the terror attack have not yet been confirmed. The Foreign Ministry will issue updates as casualties are officially confirmed.
In addition, 10 Israeli citizens are still defined as “not contacted,” however there can be many other reasons why they have not yet contacted family or officials.
Magen David Adom (Israel’s emergency medical, disaster and ambulance service) is sending three planes to Istanbul to assist in the medical care and evacuation of the wounded Israelis.
The Foreign Ministry is coordinating the care of the Israeli terror victims with the relevant governmental ministries and other non-governmental groups.
The Director-General of the MFA, Dr. Dore Gold, is departing the AIPAC conference in the US early and is flying to Istanbul.
