The Minister of Health Yaakov Litzman, took action to have live fish and fresh vegetables released for the Passover holiday, after these products   remained in ports because of workers' strike.

In order to care for those who use to buy live fish, the Health Minister Litzman took action for unpacking cargoes of live fish and fresh vegetables in the ports, despite the strike by the workers of the Food Authority of the Ministry of Health, among the other public service workers who are on strike these days, in order not insure that there is no shortage of live fish and fresh vegetables before Passover.

The Minister Litzmann addressed the President of the Union of Civil Service, Mr. Ariel Jacoby, and asked him to take the consumers of live fish and fresh vegetables into consideration and to allow the workers of the Authority Food in the  Ministry of  Health to unload cargo ships lying in the ports, despite the strike. Litzman’s request was approved and the cargoes of fish and vegetables were actually organized as required before the Passover.

The Minister of Health Yaakov Litzman thanked the President of the Union of Public Service, the Chairman of the Histadrut (General Federation of Workers) Avi Nissenkorn and President of the Association of Workers of the Ministry of Health Nissim Levy, for their help and understanding of the live fish and vegetables consumers before the holidays.
