Yesterday, Tuesday, April 5 016, took place in the Knesset the ceremony of the "Trophy of the Ministry of Health to volunteers in the health system."
"The Trophy of the Minister of Health" is an additional way for the Minister of Health to express his gratitude and to encourage the important work of the volunteers and their organizations without the health system.
The Minister of Health, Yaakov Litzman: "The Trophy of the Minister of Health expresses the great importance we see in volunteering in the community and in the society in order to promote and consolidate the initiatives and commitments to the community. This year as well, we praise those who contribute themselves, their time and their skills to other’s sake. I wish to thank the committee members who are professionals in their fields, for having made the right decisions to encourage volunteers who give their time to others as a way of life".

If there is something that gives me satisfaction, this is such an occasion, in which I have the opportunity to be a partner and to say "Thank you" from the bottom of my heart on behalf of these many dear volunteers, who turn us from an ordinary society to an exemplary one".
The people and organizations who have been granted the Trophy from the Minister of Health for Outstanding Volunteers:
The Association "Tikva VeMarpe" ( "Hope and Healing") – who works with dedication for hospitalized children in dialysis and nephrology departments, volunteers of the Café – "BeKivoun Harouah"(" in the direction of the wind ") – for their innovative activity creating a meeting and integration between students and mentally handicapped people, Mrs. Leah Levy – volunteer at Hadassah Hospital for 17 years, Rabbi Avraham Yeshayahu Haber – founder of the "Matanat Hahayim" Association ( "the gift of life") who works to recruit altruistic donors for kidney transplantation, Professor Nahum Halperin– a specialist in orthopedics, who has been graciously healing patients in need for many years, Mr. Avshalom Cohen – the President of the "Amoutat Hayim" Association (" Association of life ") for the treatment of children with cancer, in which he volunteers for over 20 years, Ms. Shahar Sharabani – born in 1988, who has been volunteering for 8 years in a home for Holocaust survivors at the Centre for Mental Health in Beer Yaakov, Mr. Eliran Keren – born in 1971, who has been devoting all his energy and free time in homes for Holocaust survivors in Pardessyah and Shaar Menashe, Mr. Yona Schwartz – volunteers for many years in the "Shaare Zedek" hospital in the Cardiology Department, volunteers of "Manhigout Nashim" ( "Women’s Leadership") in Umm al-Fahm for women – for their outreach activities in the community and promotion of public health, the volunteers of the association "Refouah VeHayim" ( "Medicine and Life") – working for the organization of medical assistance for those in need within the general population, Dr. Dalia Alkes– a dentist who volunteers as a medical clown in the Dialysis Unit, students in Yavnieli (normal education) and Henrietta Szold (special education) schools working in collaboration and partnership to promote a healthy lifestyle in the community.
