A project to import clean sand to beaches in the Krayot area, near Haifa, is complete. Some 70,000 cubic meters of sand were brought to the Kiryat Haim and Kiryat Yam coastlines, which measure about 2 Km, since late April. The beach nourishment project was conducted by the Israel Ports Company, in response to a Ministry of Environmental Protection (MoEP) demand, to make up for signficant erosion that occurred as a result of winter storms and infrastructure in Haifa Bay.
