In the wake of an increase in air pollution in Kibbutz Kfar Masaryk over the past few days, the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MoEP) has reached an agreement with the nearby Hod Assaf Industries. The company’s steel factory in Acre stopped the smelting process on Saturday, so that sources of pollution emissions in the area are identified and dealt with. Factory representatives and MoEP officials are meeting on Monday, May 30th, in order to discuss the issue. The MoEP will issue guidelines to plant managers that will prevent pollution in the area surrounding the factory.
