Ukraine’s Ambassador in Israel, Mr. Igor timopiiv (Mr. IHOR TYMOFIEIEV) and Ukraine’s defense Attaché, Colonel Ivan pliska (COL. IVAN PLYSKA), today (Thursday) met with Chief of general staff, Lieutenant General Gabi Ashkenazi, and India and provided support for army troops and air force Navy rescuing sailors from the merchant ship Ukrainians who drowned off the coast of Lebanon on Saturday, 12 December 2009.
Ukrainian Ambassador gave a letter from Chief colleague, Chief of general staff of Ukraine, military operation to rescue the sailors ‘ lives. Also, note that the help he felt created close ties between Nations and that he sees in IDF forces members and partners.
The Chief thanked the Ambassador for the warm words and said that IDF forces operated in order to save lives, and so will in the future. Yesterday (Wed) visited the Ambassador and Ukrainian Defense Attaché in the search and rescue unit of the air force and India personally to forces that helped rescue the Ukrainian citizens.
