The Knesset marked a decade since the Second Lebanon War with a special ceremony held in Chagall Hall on Tuesday in the presence of Knesset Speaker Yuli-Yoel Edelstein, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman, Welfare Minister Haim Katz, other ministers and MKs, Deputy IDF Chief of Staff Maj.-Gen. Yair Golan, IDF soldiers and bereaved families.

The event featured performances by military bands, including the Military Rabbinate Band with IDF Chief Cantor Lt. Col. Shai Abramson, as well as performances by actor Matti Seri, singer Idan Amedi and the A Cappella group.

The Second Lebanon war – its horrors and the lessons Israel has drawn from it – ”will continue to accompany us in the daily routine and at every decisive crossroads as a warning sign and reminder,” Speaker Edelstein said during the event.

The war sits as a ”heavy weight” on the bereaved families,” which are left with ”a huge void which cannot really be filled,” he added. width=400 alt=”Speaker Edelstein”/>
