The Civil Administration strives to protect the environment in Judea and Samaria. For this purpose the David Unit was created as a part of the Environment Dept. to prevent the unauthorized garbage dumping in Judea and Samaria.
The Civil Administration has seen a number of improvements since the founding of the David Unit. These changes include and increase in both the amount of permit requests for trash disposal in Judea and Samaria, the increasing quantity of waste dumped in Israeli landfills as well as the decrease in the number of waste smugglers.
Last year, as part of routine activities, the David Unit was able to stop 20.5 tons of Glycerin that whereattempted to be snuck through the Eliyahu crossing (in the picture). Up until now, 240 trucks with wasting materials were stopped by the David Unit with the collaboration of the Supervisory Unit. This is just an example of the daily obstacles faced by the Civil Administration to protect the environment.
