According to preliminary data, Dr. Orna Moor, director of the National Center for the HIV and for viruses that cause liver infection of the Ministry of Health, will publish in a report in the National Center for HIV Testing and Verification Tests for Viral Hepatitis", that in 2016, 385 new HIV / AIDS cases among adults (above 15 years) were discovered.
Dr. Daniel Shem-Tov, director of the tuberculosis and AIDS department at the Health Ministry, said that the initial data from the National Center for the HIV virus indicate a continuing decline in the number of new cases diagnosed each year with HIV / AIDS, for the third consecutive year (Down from 463 cases at the end of 2014 to 412 cases at the end of 2015 according to data from the Department of Tuberculosis and AIDS at the Ministry of Health). The decrease was observed in all risk groups.

It is important to note that the Ministry of Health continues the implementation of specific projects and interventions and is tailored to the needs of all groups in risk to prevent the contamination and morbidity with HIV / AIDS.

The final figures will be seen in the periodic epidemiological report published by the Department of Tuberculosis and AIDS each year before World AIDS Day on 1 December.
